Consular / Visa Services

The Consular and Entry Clearance Section is responsible for the consular protection of British nationals in Barbados and the Commonwealth of Dominica. The section also handles British passport and entry clearance (visa) matters for the Eastern Caribbean region.

The section is open to the public from 0815 – 1230 Monday to Friday. We can get very busy so an appointment is strongly recommended. For entry clearance (visa) applications you must make an appointment and allow as much notice as possible.

In the case of a genuine emergency outside of office hours the Duty Officer for the High Commission is available. They can be contacted on telephone (246) 230 9829.

Consular assistance can involve anything from helping visitors who have lost their passport to evacuating British nationals in the event of civil unrest or natural disaster.

The Entry Clearance Section decides on the issue of visas and entry certificates to people, who wish to visit, study, work or settle in the United Kingdom.
